The Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the EU, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, who is also a member of the NATO–Ukraine Interparliamentary Council, participated in the Council’s meeting in Brussels.
Before the meeting began, the Bureau of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly addressed all parliamentary delegations of Allied member states with a request and insistence — to increase assistance to Ukraine. This includes both air defence systems and energy-related equipment to provide maximum support to Ukraine in response to inhumane attacks targeting civilian populations.

During the session of the NATO–Ukraine Interparliamentary Council, discussions focused on political support and a shared vision of how Ukraine’s partners can strengthen their commitments within the framework of the Coalition of the Willing going forward. Participants also addressed the concrete parameters of urgent military assistance, as well as recommendations on priority reforms in Ukraine, many of which are closely linked to the country’s European integration agenda.
“Our NATO colleagues, including the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Marcos Perestrello, emphasized that despite other pressing challenges, assistance to Ukraine remains an absolute priority for the Alliance, including for the NATO Parliamentary Assembly,” Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze stated.

According to her, the Ukrainian delegation had the opportunity to hear remarks and pose questions to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. “The Ukrainian delegation insisted on the most critical needs for Ukraine today: air defence systems, artillery ammunition, investments in Ukraine’s defence-industrial complex, as well as support for restoring and strengthening Ukraine’s energy system,” the Chair of the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the EU said.
She also stressed that the issue of Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance must remain on the agenda and cannot be decided by anyone outside Ukraine and NATO member states.
