Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the EU, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, emphasized this during the Committee’s delegation participation in the LXXIII Plenary meeting of COSAC — the Conference of European Affairs Committees of the EU Member States, partner countries, and EU candidate countries — taking place in Warsaw.

Speaking at the session dedicated to the implementation of the priorities of Poland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze expressed her gratitude to Poland — its government, parliament, and people — for their unwavering support and leadership in standing with Ukraine. “When Poland assumed the EU Presidency, Ukraine saw it as a powerful continuation of that leadership. The focus and priorities of the Polish Presidency reflected not only the EU’s agenda but also Ukraine’s reality and aspirations,” she said.

Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze noted that Poland had set an example in the clarity of its threat assessments and understanding of necessary action: “Your determination to strengthen Europe’s security and defence architecture and energy resilience is inseparable from our fight for freedom, independence, sovereignty, and peace. And we deeply understand and appreciate that — thanks to all your efforts — we are not alone.”

At the same time, she stressed the importance of maintaining stability and predictability in the continuous military support for Ukraine, as well as the need to strengthen sanctions against the Russian Federation: “Because we understand that Russia cannot be persuaded into peace — it must be forced into it. Unfortunately, the so-called ‘negotiations’ taking place between Russia and Ukraine are not even remotely leading to a ceasefire, let alone true peace and stability on the continent. Russia is sadly using this process as a pretext — a smokescreen — to continue destroying our nation and our people,” she said.

Ivanna  Klympush-Tsintsadze expressed hope that Poland’s priorities and its continued support for Ukraine will remain unchanged: “With your help, we will be able to defeat this evil. Let’s do it together,” the Chair of the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the EU concluded.
