
Chair of the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the EU Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze met with Boris Ruge, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy. During the conversation, they discussed security issues and the need for active engagement by the international community in response to new challenges faced by Ukraine and the entire Euro-Atlantic area.
Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze stressed that Ukraine’s allies should act without wasting time. According to her, it is important to move beyond the stage of denial regarding the shift in rhetoric of the US and focus on real actions and assistance to Ukraine.

Special attention during the meeting was paid to NATO’s role in the region and to preserving the Alliance’s unity. The position of the United States, according to the Chair of the Committee, should encourage European partners to take more decisive actions in the field of security and defence. Sanctions and economic pressure on the aggressor were also addressed. The parties discussed the effectiveness of sanctions, the need for their revision, as well as the importance of banning Russian oil and gas as instruments of influence over the Russian Federation.
Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze emphasised that the European and Euro-Atlantic community must be ready to address common security challenges and demonstrate its capacity to contribute to security on the European continent.
