An attack on Kyiv on the eve of the NATO summit continues the tactics of intimidating Ukraine and the world, stated the Chair of the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the EU, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze. “The Russians hit the most vulnerable sick children on the eve of the NATO summit. Hitler destroyed Warsaw so that others saw what he was capable of and froze in fear. Putin acts similarly, and we can only stop him together. In a world where international law applies, an attack on a children's hospital is a reason to convene immediately the UN Security Council and take decisive actions to punish the aggressor. However, the aggressor this month heads the UN Security Council, so the result is known in advance,” said Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze.

According to her, the Alliance and the entire free world should finally stop deceiving themselves that they can influence war escalation. “The strategy of not defeating Ukraine should be finally changed to the strategy of its victory and Ukraine should be given everything it needs to beat the common enemy,” said the Chair of the Committee.

Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze also emphasised it is unacceptable for EU and NATO members to use their presidency in international organisations to pay homage to Russia, creating a background for empty talks about negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. “It is unfair that they are reluctant to let Ukraine, which defends the entire free world, join NATO. At the same time, they tolerate a member that disgraces the Alliance and repeatedly attempts to split it,” said Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, commenting on the recent visit of the Hungarian Prime Minister to Moscow. She insisted that only powerful military aid and the unity of partners around Ukraine can guarantee victory over Russia. Therefore, she called on the free world to mobilise even more in support of Ukraine.
