The Chairwoman of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, as a member of the Parliament delegation of Ukraine, participated in the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Interparliamentary Council held in Wiesbaden, Germany.

“All present MPs from the Alliance member states unanimously supported the importance of moving from political statements to concrete measures to strengthen assistance to Ukraine,” reported Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze after the meeting.

Coordinating actions in preparation for the next meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly to be held in the United States at the end of May was also discussed. The Chair of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU is convinced that it is necessary to work hard with European and American partners to give a strong political signal regarding the inevitability of Ukraine's future in NATO, including within the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly. The need for a clear plan for European countries to strengthen Ukraine's defence capabilities and joint pressure on the aggressor was also stated.

Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze emphasised that Ukraine is currently in a critical phase of the war. “The misleading expectations that the end of the war is just around the corner have, to some extent, disoriented and demobilised support for Ukraine. On the contrary, this is the time for active and concrete measures. Ukrainians are significantly exhausted by the terror of war, but we understand: to survive and have a future, we need to persevere. This means that our fight will continue until we stop Russia,” said the Chair of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU.

She reported that all MEPs from the Alliance member states clearly support the impossibility of recognising any territories of Ukraine occupied by the Russian Federation as Russian. “This is an important red line that we hope together with the Europeans not to let anyone cross,” emphasised Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze.

According to her, Russia cannot be rewarded in any way for the destruction and death that it is causing and for undermining the entire system of international law. “A clear position from European partners, along with the cooperation with them and the Americans, is of fundamental importance for us. In no way, even despite the doubts of the American administration regarding Ukraine’s membership in NATO, will we reconsider the decisions already made at the Alliance level. If Russia thinks that our membership in NATO can be the subject of negotiations and bargaining with it, it will continue to press forward. If this is truly an irreversible decision, Russia will have to swallow it,” emphasised Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze.
