During her working visit to Madrid, the Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the European Union, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, met with the newly appointed head of the Joint Committee of both chambers of the Spanish Parliament on European Affairs, Alberto Fabra.
The discussion focused on countering Russia’s aggression, Ukraine’s military needs, strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia, finding solutions to unblock European financial support for Ukraine, as well as Ukraine’s progress towards EU membership.
“In Spain, both governing and opposition political forces support Ukraine. At the same time, for obvious reasons, our struggle remains a relatively distant issue for part of society here. That is why we are using every opportunity to explain the situation through the media and inviting colleagues to visit Ukraine — personal experience of events strengthens politicians’ voices within their own environments,” Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze noted.
