The Chair of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, welcomed the decision of the Washington Summit stating that Ukraine's full membership in NATO is irreversible. The document, adopted by all Alliance members, states that they will continue to support Ukraine on its path to full Euro-Atlantic integration, including NATO membership. At the same time, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze believes that this decision should contain specific time frames and a clear roadmap for Ukraine's accession. The allies' hesitancy will only strengthen Putin's determination in his aggression against Ukraine and the free world. “He will use every opportunity to deepen discrepancies within the Alliance regarding Ukraine. The war can last indefinitely,” said the Chair of the Committee.

She is convinced that Russia would swallow Ukraine's membership in the Alliance the same way as the membership of Finland and Sweden. “Seeing the absolute unity, clarity, strength and concentration of NATO partners around Ukraine, Russia would be forced to accept it,” said the Chair of the Committee.

Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze believes that Ukraine and its allies should work together to change the perception of those who still believe that they can influence the escalation or de-escalation of the war in Ukraine. According to the Chair of the Committee, Russia does not need pretexts for the escalation. It makes them itself, and the hesitancy of the West only helps it.

Instead, NATO members should work to make the Alliance even stronger globally, and not just as a Euro-Atlantic player. Dictatorships can only be opposed at the global level, the Chair of the Committee is convinced.
