The Chair of the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the EU, together with other MPs, met with the United States Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, Wally Adeyemo. The parties discussed the urgent needs of Ukraine and the reforms it should implement. Among the important short-term priorities, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze emphasised the necessity to restart the Accounting Chamber and change procedures for its formation for better control of state expenditures. “For Ukraine to succeed, including winning the war, it is necessary to transform the country as much as possible. It must not be postponed, the gains that have been achieved must not be lost,” said the Chair of the Committee.

She also insisted on the need to preserve the independence of all anti-corruption institutions in Ukraine for their effective work and to exclude any political influence on them. Additionally, it is necessary to reform the Bureau of Economic Security, turning it into a real analytical body, not just a punitive one.

The Chair of the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the EU noted that urgent assistance in restoring generating energy facilities is extremely important for Ukraine. Only after the restoration will it be possible to discuss the functioning of Ukraine's economy. “We need protection and the maximum provision of air defence so that the electricity supply is ensured for maintaining the economy, income generation, and, accordingly, tax collection for the state budget,” said Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze.
