The Chair of the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the EU Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze took part in the discussion in the Ivan Paul II Catholic University of Lublin “Pro-European choice of Ukraine”.

Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze emphasised that discussed should be not only the pro-European choice of Ukraine but also the pro-European choice of Europe. According to her, Ukrainians have been proving for the last ten years that they are serious about their values and their choice. “Now we see challenges in Europe regarding the readiness to protect values. Ukraine demonstrated leadership and initiated important strategic changes in the EU. At the same time, there is a certain lack of leadership in Europe, in particular, in the understanding that not only Ukraine but also all of Europe is fighting a common enemy — Russia,” said the Chair of the Committee. She is convinced that countries like Poland should demonstrate this leadership. “To some extent Poland does it. At the same time, we see farmers' protests, which, from my point of view, block not only Ukraine but also Poland itself. Not in the sense of transport, but in the sense of further political and economic development. I am convinced that Europe should solve this issue internally. The European Union must find a balance between the benefits of the free world values and the ability to protect them,” said Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze.

The Chair of the Committee noted that there is a lot of work ahead of both parties — Ukraine and the EU. “We are aware of the volume of work that we must do. Starting with the main task — victory in the war and ending with the transformations that help us become a strong, competitive, respectable member of the European Union. But the amount of work to be done by the European Union is just as large. The EU must confirm the pro-Ukrainian choice every day. Concrete actions are needed, just as Ukraine proves its pro-European choice with concrete actions every day. With our joint involvement, dedication and joint efforts we can move forward together,” said the Chair of the Committee.
